Cooking Safely this Thanksgiving

We are thankful for you!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we want to inspire you with safety in the kitchen. This is a wonderful time of year and we want yours to be special and free from kitchen emergencies.

The American Red Cross offers great advice on how to be safe in the kitchen.

A few tips include:

  1. Keep the area around your stove clear. A hot burner could burn a nearby towel or plastic container.

  2. Turn pot handles to the back of the stove. This prevents little hands from reaching for those handles and prevents adults from bumping into them.

  3. Use a timer. Using a timer reminds busy preppers that food is cooking and ready to be removed from the heat; an easy way to avoid burning food or worse, a fire.
